I want it to be Christmas holiday now! Is getting a bit homesick by now. No, actually, that’s a lie; I’ve been homesick for quite a while.
BUT, I should be writing of all the fun I have had so far during my stay in England.
Thinking Like A Writer soon became my favourite course. You just have to love a class where we are required to buy a notebook and give it a name and personality! *jumps up and down in happiness* And writing! Lots of writing! *squeals*
Life Writing 1 is my second favourite; more writing! In this class it isn’t fiction though. We write about things that have actually happened, memories and such. But it is very fun and we learn many good writing exercises!
And Anette visited me on October! That was fun! We went to central London, and generally had a lot of fun! Oceana is an interesting place. We stayed a long time in the “cheesy room”, because they played music we grew up with in there. Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys. You name it, they had it!
I have also received many compliments on my English! *preens* It feeds my ego! Two people have even told me my English is “awesome”! *grins widely* My life just gets better and better. Today one of the girls in my Life Writing seminar told me she thought I was brave for travelling all the way from Norway (alone) to study. I don’t feel very brave, but I will take it as the compliment it is anyway.
It’s so many Norwegians here! I even have another girl from Trøndelag in some of my classes! What are the odds for that?! *is amazed* She has even lived in the very tiny place that I am from, if only for a short amount of time, long time ago, but still! *is incredulous*
Hmmm… What more to say? So much have happened; I really don’t know what more to mention….
Wants to have Christmas break!! Home sweet home! Miss the family, and the dog! Must not forget the dog! Look at my header, people. That’s Jeger’s eyes! Aren’t he adorable?
Okay, going to bed now. Don’t think this is going to get more intelligent than this at this time. Good night, sleep tight, don’t let the bugs bite! *waves*
*grins* Us ørlændinga are everywhere( okay, she only lived here a short while, but still…)! It’s crazy.
*thinks you should update your blog sooooon!*
*/really/ thinks it’s about time we get to her something of your secret, British life here*
hey Lorentze
i was thinking of applying to roehampton university (perhaps take creative writing, too). Can you tell me a bit about the university? how’s the area around roehampton, is it fun with lots of stuff to do? how close is it to “central” london?
Hey there Tom!
I liked Roehampton a lot personally. The area around the main campus was very good, but around the campus I lived it was kinda bad. Quite a lot of crime. But I come form a small town, so we can have very different views on that.
It’s not much to do on Roehampton itself, but Kingston isn’t far away and they have everything you need; clubs, pubs, cinema, mall. Putney also have those things. Both Putney and Kingston is only a short bus drive away from school.
They university is very good. The teachers I had at least knew a lot and knew how to teach. (My favourite class was creative writing, it was lots of fun!) The school itself is very nice too. The location and everything is nice:)
To get to central London you take the bus to Putney or Hammersmith and the tube from there. It takes about an hour to get there, depends a bit in the traffic.
