We are now at a hotel in Reykjavik! Yes, that’s right; I’m in Iceland!
My very good friend (Anette) and I took a plane here today. We didn’t know though, that they are celebrating a national holiday today! Some sort of Labour Day, the receptionist told us. Oh well, we got food anyway and the stores open up again tomorrow.
We found the best signs on some of the stores! A tattoo shop had a sign that said: “The management reserves the right to beat the shit out of anybody who pisses them off”. Isn’t that a brilliant sign or what! Another store had a sign that said: “We are closed today as we are busy drinking cocktails!” Once again; brilliant!
On Thursday, we a re going to the Blue Lagoon, and we are getting there by horseback! I’ve never ridden a horse in my life, so this is going to be interesting. I predict a lot of pain. Luckily we are only riding to the Blue Lagoon. We take a bus back to the hotel. The rest of the week is left very much unplanned. We know a few things we want to do, but we haven’t made a plan for when yet. This is a holiday, not a duty!
